This Latch style buckle is ideal for buckling down your kiln lid. Many modern kiln lids hinges come with metal springs. These springs are set under tension and help the lid lift more easily. We have found that over time the metal springs can change their tension and a latch is needed to hold down the lid. So if you notice your lid slightly lifting while the kiln is on high, then this simple latch is a safe fix. One latch in the front is suggested, but you could also use more for a tighter seal.
