Skutt KM-1227-3 pottery kiln, 208-volt, 3-phase.

Skutt’s KM-1227-3 is designed specifically for volume production and fast turnaround of high-mass loads, and is the ideal size for many studios. The standard KilnMaster controller gives you the options of cone firing, or programming your own 8-segment Ramp/Hold firing programs. The combination of direct wiring, heavy duty elements, connectors and relays, plus traditional Skutt stainless steel and firebrick construction results in a kiln that will last for years of constant use. Please note that the KM-1227-3 has a maximum temperature of cone 8; the 208V 1P model only reaches cone 5. If you anticipate wanting or needing to fire to cone 10, we suggest upgrading to the production version of this kiln, the KM-1227-3PK, available in our ‘production kiln’ section.

For maintenance convenience, every kiln of the KM Skutt Series is equipped with a current sensor that allows remote technicians to troubleshoot your kiln right over the phone. The current sensor reads your voltage and amperage with just a few easy keystrokes accessed from the completely redesigned Menu function key. The Skutt KM-1227-3 also features balanced elements. The top and bottom of the kiln lose heat faster than the center so Skutt puts hotter elements (more power) in those areas. The Skutt KM-1227-3 comes standard with 3” kiln brick.

Options for Customization:
The Skutt KM-1227-3 comes with a few options for customization. First, select the correct voltage and phasing from the drop-down menu above; if you are unsure of your space’s wiring, please check with an electrician. Next, you may select to order your kiln with one of the suggested furniture kit.

Your kiln shipment will also include a standard stationary metal kiln stand.

If you'd prefer the 1" thick shelves for high firings, you can add that here. You can also add a vent system, which is recommended for closed-air spaces. You can also upgrade your controller to a touchscreen which makes operation as easy as working a smartphone! Finally, you may choose to upgrade your kiln to support APM elements, which is a good choice if you plan to high-fire your kiln multiple times per week.
