This light rutile is a titanium dioxide rutile with less impurities than light or dark rutile, but more than pure titanium dioxide.
It has the following typica chemical analysis:
TiO2 - 95%
Fe2O3 - <2.0%
SiO2 - 1.25%
Al2O3 - 0.4%
LOI: 0.90%
We have found the melt characteristics of this rutile to be closer to Titanium Dioxide than that of typical rutiles. Likely due to the lack of potassium and other fluxing impurities found in other rutile chemical analyses.
